My career started in Northglenn and Commerce City Colorado in 2008, as an EMT and Field Training Officer. I worked part time as an adjunct instructor for an EMT school in Westminster, before joining TVEMS in 2012 as a full time EMT. In 2014 I was selected by Chief Randy Lesher and the management team to receive a full sponsorship to the HealthOne EMS Paramedic School, which I graduated the Valedictorian of Class cycle 102.
While working as a paramedic, I served on the TVEMS’s an LFRA’s combined Special Operations Team, TVEMS’s Honor Guard, and continued to work as an adjunct instructor, CPR instructor, and paramedic preceptor. In 2020 I was promoted to the Education Lieutenant.
My role at TVEMS is to provide continuing medical education and operational training to our clinical staff and partnering fire departments. I help facilitate orientation for the new members of our team and teach ongoing certification courses to our staff and the general public.
In January 2021, I was promoted to the Education Captain, and Battalion Chief in 2022. I have always admired educators and have wanted my career to emulate those respected EMS mentors. I can’t imagine a better organization to achieve this goal. I have been given so many opportunities, supported and challenged to grow as a paramedic, as an educator and personally. I am surrounded by outstanding clinicians, peers, partners, mentors and leaders that have made an immeasurable impact on my life.
I am truly thankful for the opportunity to share my education and experiences with others.
